Information on accessibility compliance

This is a convenience translation; only the German version is legally binding. APRO® Kassensysteme GmbH, with its registered office at Marktstraße 19/7 in Oed-Oehling, endeavours to make all e-commerce solutions (webshops & white-label apps) and all checkout solutions at the POS relevant to end customers (self-order kiosks) accessible in accordance with the Austrian Accessibility Act (BaFG), which implements the European Accessibility Directive (EU) 2019/882 on the accessibility requirements for products and services (European Accessibility Act, EAA).

General description of the service offered

APRO® offers customers in the hospitality sector white-label software solutions for webshops, apps and self-order terminals. The software solutions allow end consumers to order and pay for the respective customer's goods and services and to take part in customer loyalty programmes. The software solutions are provided in the name and on behalf of the customer, who is solely responsible for the content. APRO® merely provides the technical platform for this.

Compliance with accessibility requirements

Navigation & screen readers: All interactive elements of the webshop can be operated entirely via the keyboard. Users can navigate through the application using the Tab key and use all functions without a mouse. The webshop is fully compatible with common screen readers such as VoiceOver.

Focus indicators: Clearly visible focus indicators are provided for all interactive elements. They help users to identify their current point of focus within the page clearly at all times.

Skipping links & avoiding redundant content: So-called ‘skip links’ have been implemented, allowing users to skip recurring content (e.g. navigation areas) and go directly to the main content. In addition, redundant output of elements, such as duplicate labels, is consistently avoided.

Error messages and validation: Form validations and error messages are communicated clearly and comprehensibly to assistive technologies. They contain specific, actionable guidance on how input errors can be corrected.

Content structure: The page content is logically structured using semantic HTML5 elements (e.g. <header>, <nav>, <main>, <footer>), which ensures a meaningful reading order and improved navigation. Relevant images and icons are provided with meaningful alternative text.

Consistent navigation: The navigation structure is uniform across all pages. This makes it easier for users to find their way around and supports intuitive and efficient use of the website.

Colour contrast: The website meets the requirements of the WCAG AA guidelines with regard to colour contrast. Selected and unselected elements are clearly distinguishable. Toggle switches have appropriate accessibility roles so that their current status (e.g. enabled or disabled) is clearly recognisable to assistive technologies.

Accessibility & reachability: Self-order kiosks at the POS are equipped with a so-called ‘reachability tool’. This allows all relevant screen content to be displayed in the lower area of the screen, thereby improving the ergonomic reachability of the controls.

Competent supervisory authority

Pursuant to Section 21 BaFG, the Federal Office for Social Affairs and Disability (Sozialministeriumservice) is responsible for monitoring compliance with the accessibility requirements.
